Diary of a WAHM

Working online must be one of the most flexible and enjoyable work at home jobs to have!...But how does "being a WAHM" help with "being a mum"?

Blogging from the Hair Salon

Modern technology...sat in the hair salon and sending off a blog post...

Not quite.

DD2 went to bed and promptly got back up again (the clocks have changed and I tried to pull a fast one). So I figured I'd break her in gently and let her come down this time, on the understand that mummy was working so it wasn't play time.

No fear! No problemo mama... DD2 promptly took up position behind me in my cat-battered executive chair and started to do my hair. Promising to be gentle, I let her...and to my relief it wasn't the usual painful experience of pulled hair and tears in the eyes.

In fact, it was rather relaxing - I had my hair lovingly brushed and tended to for over an hour while I worked on the computer, chatting away and being told "don't move!"

I didn't realise however, that I was getting a new 'do' - complete with eyeshadow and lip gloss smoothed onto my locks. So yes dear, I know mummy looks beautiful with glittery, strawberry-smelling hair...but it's going to dry as stiff as a board.

Oh well, she had fun, I got to work and we both had a chat. She even got the calculator off my desk to work out my bill! :) And she's only 4...

Night x
